Drop in DC motor kit for alps machines
These are finally ready to be released to the public after years of testing. Our dc motor kit offers very predictable control with its smooth curve. It has an always on mode for drying rods, can be put into reverse by toggling the switch on the top. Speed is not saved between drying and wrapping modes. We are working on a revision for that. installation is easy, unscrew the entire side panel off your rod lathe. Line up our mount with your pulley on the chuck. Screw in our clamp and its ready to go. We include a special pulley that is tighter on the belt giving your motor more torque as well as a silicone belt.
We offer several combinations of motors and power supplies. I’ll make two kits available.
One is going to be our larger motor which can really pull a lot of torque but is harder to move with your hands. Great for sanding cork
The 2nd Option is going to be a 12v power supply running a smaller smoother motor that we recommend for most rod wrappers who want to focus on detail and speed.
